Boat Safety with Joshua Kerrigan

Boat safety is of paramount importance in Joshua Kerrigan’s world. There is nothing that irks Joshua Kerrigan more than if he sees someone operating a boat in an unsafe manner. As a yacht management expert at the head of his own company, Joshua Kerrigan is all about boat safety. It’s a huge part of his everyday life.

South Florida marinas in boating season are busy places. Joshua Kerrigan and his crew operate out of four different marinas around South Florida, and they see firsthand the amount of boat traffic coming in and out of these marinas on a daily basis. With so much traffic, boat safety is always at the forefront of Joshua Kerrigan’s mind.

Alertness is key in boat safety, says Joshua Kerrigan. Keep your head up and look around you. Be aware of your surroundings. A great number of boating accidents are caused by simply not being aware of your surroundings, Joshua Kerrigan says, and it’s very unfortunate that this simple inattention can cause such big problems.

In addition to keeping alert, Joshua Kerrigan advises knowing the rules of the waterways. There is a certain etiquette to boating that ought to be followed by everyone. Following this etiquette results in a safe and happy boating experience for all, says Joshua Kerrigan.

Joshua Kerrigan is a big proponent and advocate of life jackets. Wearing your life jacket is the only way to ensure that it will be there if you need it, yet almost no one wears a life jacket while boating. A life jacket that is sitting on the boat is not doing you any good when you’re in the water, says Joshua Kerrigan. Proper life jacket use is paramount in boat safety. Joshua Kerrigan would like it if everyone could listen up and start to think about boat safety the way he does.
